Discover St Pius X

Choosing the right education for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

As parents, carers, or grandparents, you have a choice — and the right — to offer your child the best education available.

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle proudly hosts some of the best schools in Newcastle, Maitland, Hunter, Upper Hunter, Lake Macquarie and Manning regions.

Catholic schools offer a unique educational experience that forms the child as a person of integrity, compassion, faith and wisdom.  Together, they encourage success, promote discipline, support creativity and instill compassion.

Catholic schools have a commitment to focus on each individual child’s ability, offering a unique array of educational, creative, sporting and formation opportunities for students.

Faith-Based Education

St Pius X Primary School, located in Windale, is dedicated to creating a learning community that embraces Gospel values and delivers a high-quality Catholic education to its students. Inspired by the Sisters of St Joseph, we strive to incorporate the Josephite order’s charisms into all aspects of school life.

Situated in the Lake Macquarie region, our school enjoys a peaceful setting between the shores of Lake Macquarie and the picturesque beaches of Redhead and Dudley. We provide a stimulating environment that encourages children to learn and engage in play. Our school boasts modern and engaging learning spaces that support a comprehensive curriculum.

As a Catholic school, St Pius X is committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential in the classroom. We highly value and promote the partnership between home and school, with our teachers working closely with parents to address individual needs.

We Offer Contemporary Learning

At St Pius X, we are firm believers that the key to our students’ success lies in the delivery of high-quality education. Our educational programs are tailored to meet the unique learning needs, interests, and experiences of each student.

Our teaching staff is not only highly skilled but also well-versed in 21st-century learning pedagogy. They create a collaborative work environment, utilise flexible workspaces, and captivate students through engaging learning tasks.

Our approach to contemporary learning is centered around empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and capacities to creatively tackle the challenges of the future. We actively promote innovation and foster inquiry-based learning, aiming to cultivate a sense of belonging and purpose that enhances the overall learning culture.

We Encourage Creativity

We promote and inspire the pursuit of creativity. Creative Arts is a curriculum area recognised as a strength at St Pius X. All students have the opportunity to discover, strengthen and express their creative abilities through art, music and drama. Students have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar. Our guitarists also perform at school liturgies and local community events. Each year we enter the YOUNG ARCHIE Awards.

Early Intervention

We recognise the individuality of every child. Our school gives new meaning to “child centred” and recognises the uniqueness of and strives to fulfil the specific needs of each child. Assisting this process, we have a Paediatrician who visits the school regularly to work with staff and families. In addition, we have a Speech and Occupational Therapists onsite to meet your child’s needs.
